[edit] Security and access permissions of documents and folders

Project.net provides facility to add/remove user permission at the object level. Space administrator or Power user can add/remove access to user for an object. There is an alternate way to add/remove permissions for all objects in the documents module through the Setup module of Project/Business workspace.

[edit] Set Permissions/Security to Documents/Folders

  1. In the documents page, Select the document/folder to which the you want to set permission for user.
  2. Click on the [Security] option available under Toolbox. The Security Settings window is now open. All previously set permissions for the Space administrator, Power user and Team members are now displayed.
  3. The People tab will display the list of all team members in the selected project/business.
  4. Select the team member(s) to whom who should be given the permissions on the selected object.
  5. Click on [Add link].
  6. The Selected user's name will appear in the Person/Role list with the permissions for the same.
  7. Provide the necessary permission's for the added user.
  8. Click on [Apply All Changes] to submit the entry.

[edit] Remove permissions of a team member from the Document or Folder

  1. In the documents page, Select the document/folder to which the you want to set permission for user.
  2. Click on the [Security] option available under Toolbox. The Security Settings window is now open. All previously set permissions for the Space administrator, Power user and Team members are now displayed.
  3. Select the name of the user in Person/Role list
  4. Click on [Remove].
  5. Click on [Apply All Changes] to submit the entry.

[edit] Setup Security For all Documents and Folders

  1. In the selected Project/Business, choose the Setup menu option from the navigation bar.
  2. Click on the [Security] link to direct to the module permissions page.
  3. Click on the [New Object Permission] link.
  4. Select the team members name the security permissions for whom are to be set from the Person/Role drop down box.
  5. Click on the [Permission Active] checkbox. This will display his/her permitted actions for all objects. Provide the necessary permissions to the Required object.
  6. Click on [Submit] to save changes.
